Dr. Bryan D. Blitstein, a native to the Midwest, attended school at the University of Missouri, Kansas-City. There he completed both his undergraduate training and medical school in six years. He then traveled to Chicago for his General Surgical training at the Loyola University Medical Center. There he was awarded a scholarship for excellence to undergo additional training in Minimally Invasive, or Laparoscopic, Surgery.
He joined Charlotte Surgical Group at the turn of the millennium. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Dr. Blitstein's special interests are in the treatment of Gastrointestinal diseases, especially Cancer, surgery of Endocrine disorders, Minimally Invasive surgery, and Diseases of the Breast. He also serves as a trauma surgeon for the Presbyterian Trauma Center.
He is an accomplished pianist in classical, jazz, and blues playing since the age of 8. He enjoys spending time with his two sons.
Dr. Blitstein is Board Certified.
